This Looks Like It Came Out of a Fairy Tale

WOW. This one is spectacular. It looks less like a typical miniature kit and more like someone hollowed out an enchanted tree and discovered an entire secret little world living inside.I love how absolutely packed it is with details. There are bookshelves, tiny furniture, teacups, woodland creatures, mushrooms, winding stairs, balconies and greenery creeping over practically everything. Every level feels like its own little room with something new to discover. The moss-covered roof may be my favorite part. Combined with the dark wood and warm LED lighting, it gives the whole thing an old, slightly mysterious fairy-tale atmosphere. It looks especially magical illuminated. This is clearly one of those builds that requires patience, because there is a LOT going on, but the finished result makes that complexity worthwhile. It feels much more substantial and elaborate than many miniature house kits.Absolutely gorgeous. Whimsical, strange, cozy and just a little witchy. This is exactly the kind of miniature I could stare at for an unreasonable amount of time.

    Beautifully detailed book nook kit!

This is only the second book nook kit my wife and i have gotten. After getting the first one, we invested in a set of crafting tools, to make assembly much easier. This kit comes with some tweezers, but not any glue. Having a set of clay crafting tools and glue will make it much easier to assemble this, because a lot of pieces are tiny, and you need to fit them together in some tight areas. This kit was very nicely made. The pieces are high quality, and cut really well! We have had another one and those pieces did not come out nearly as cleanly as this one. I was really impressed with how thick the pieces are, but they are still easy to work with and manipulate as needed to put them together. The directions are pretty easy to follow, but don't have many words. It is mostly pictures, and some of the steps are kind of confusing. The pictures are detailed and clear, but its tricky to see what side of the pieces go into the other piece. It does require some concentration, and isn't something we can assemble mindlessly. It is really fun to focus on what we are doing, and it distracts us from the stresses in everyday life. Once assembled, this looks really amazing, and some people haven't believed that we made it ourselves from a kit!I am really impressed with the moving parts. There is a rocking chair that actually rocks, and a swing that can really swing! Its important to keep this out of reach of small children and pets, but if it is handled carefully it is durable and doesn't fall apart easily. The detail in the artwork really blew me away. I like the fake moss that goes on the roof. It looks like reindeer grass, but is a really soft cotton. It hasn't really attracted dust like I was afraid of. It can be out on a shelf on display and not appear dirty. There are so many little details found throughout this book nook, and people can spend a lot of time looking at it and discovering all the different animals and cute little books on display.

A nice way to spend some time

I’ve assembled a bunch of these book nook and miniature house kits. The original ones required more time and patience since almost every aspect was made from scratch and assembled with glue. This style is more like a jigsaw puzzle, with laser cut pieces that snap out of a board then fit together in a “insert tab a into slot b” construction. It’s much quicker and easier than the original kind that required more time and patience, but intricacy and detail is sacrificed. While simply snapping pieces together makes for a faster assembly, you lose detail and realism. If there are animals or people in the scene, they are flat, like a puzzle piece would be.On the positive side, the laser cut pieces pop out of the boards cleanly and fit together perfectly. As well as it's designed and accurately cut, it does seem to be a better quality than other similar kits I've made. Everything you need except batteries are included and the end result is a cute scene that would look good on a bookshelf. It’s a satisfying way to spend a few hours and is easy enough that younger crafters would be able to make it with little to no adult help.

Fun Build With Beautiful Details and a Magical Finished Look

I really enjoyed putting this book nook kit together. The forest tea house theme is absolutely charming, and the finished piece has so many little details that make it fun to look at from every angle. It feels like much more than a simple craft project because you are creating a tiny scene with its own atmosphere. There are quite a few pieces to assemble, but I actually enjoyed the process and found it relaxing to work on a little at a time. The project takes some patience, but that is part of the fun for me. The LED lighting is one of my favorite features because it really brings the miniature scene to life once everything is finished.I think this would be a wonderful project for anyone who enjoys miniatures, puzzles, crafting, or books. It would also make a beautiful display piece on a bookshelf when completed. Overall, I had a great time building it and absolutely love the whimsical look of the finished book nook.

    Book Nook

This is such a fun project if you like miniatures, books, or anything with a cozy woodland feel. There are a lot of tiny pieces, so it definitely takes patience, but that is also part of what makes it enjoyable. The details are really impressive once everything starts coming together, especially the little bookshelves, plants, furniture, and mossy treehouse design. The instructions are fairly easy to follow, but I would set aside plenty of time rather than trying to rush through it. Tweezers are definitely helpful for some of the smaller pieces. I also really like the included lighting because it completely changes the finished look and makes all of the tiny details stand out.Once finished, it looks much more substantial and intricate than I expected. It is a great screen-free project and makes a really cute display piece afterward. Definitely one of those kits where the building process is almost as enjoyable as the finished result.

Charming and Well-Made, Just Read the Instructions Slowly

The build quality on this one stands out, the wooden pieces snap out of the sheets cleanly without breaking, and they fit together with a satisfying tight click rather than needing to be forced or coaxed into place. That's not always a given with these kits, and it makes a real difference in how enjoyable the actual building process is.The finished scene is genuinely charming, tiny furniture, a moss-covered roof, a little library visible from the open back, and the warm LED lighting brings the whole thing to life once it's glowing through the windows. This is a multi-hour project, expect somewhere in the 8-to-12-hour range depending on how careful you are, so it's a real weekend project rather than a quick craft. The instructions are the one weak point worth knowing about ahead of time: they're photo-based rather than clearly labeled, and it's not always obvious which of several similar holes a piece is supposed to go into. Take it slow and double check placement before committing, since backtracking to redo a section is more frustrating than just going carefully the first time. The battery compartment is also awkward to access if you need to swap batteries later, so keep that in mind before you seal everything up.For the level of detail and the quality of the pieces, this is a satisfying, screen-free build if you have the patience for instructions that require some interpretation.

Frustrating instructions make a good quality kit frustrating to assemble

Some of the instructions were challenging because the image was so dark, I couldn’t tell which way a piece was aligned or what went where. Also, the assembly order could have been better. I started looking ahead and changing the order of steps. For example, Steps 41 – 49.When you get to step 41 where you are placing a lot of little books on the bookshelf, don’t do that yet. Wait until after step 49 when you put the bookshelf onto the base. This will leave empty spots on the shelves, giving you a place to put your fingers and press the tabs of the bookshelves into the base. Then place the books however you like on the shelves. There is another bookshelf later on and I suggest doing the same thing. Do not glue on the books until after you have put the shelf into its final space.Steps 54 – 86None of these pieces are needed until after Step 87. Assemble the upper floor before assembling all the little parts that will be set onto that floor. It helps keep things more organized, so you don’t have random chairs, tables, and shelves lying around. You just have to assemble them and put them in place. In Step 93, you’ll finally place the staircase that was assembled in step 30.And that tree… Between the image being dark and it being unclear where pieces are actually meant to go. Here’s a tip – figure out which part of the tree is facing the back, put all those pieces after placing all the pieces that go in front. Don’t fret over pieces that won’t even bee seen when the assembly is complete. I’m still not certain where one piece was supposed to go.It may be a tricky assembly in parts for a beginner mostly because of the staircase and one place where you do not press down the top piece until additional pieces are put in place. Experienced builders will probably enjoy it more.None of the pieces broke. The finished book nook is very cute. A lot of glue is needed. The lighting is easy to install. The quality is very good, better than average. The illustrated instructions are frustrating.

    Highly Detailed Book Nook

I picked up this Book Nook to entertain and mainly assembled by 2 teenagers. Just like the prior Book Nooks that the 2 teens put together, this treehouse (Forest Tea Bookhouse) met what I was expecting in both craftsmanship and fine detail. The level of detail is absolutely stunning, with tiny books, wooden ladders, miniature furniture and the overall scenery that make the entire treehouse look whimsical. The LED lighting adds a warm glow that brings everything to life and adds to the atmosphere. Just like the prior Book Nooks, the 2 teenagers had a wonderful time putting this kit together. The total construction time was about 10.5 hours. It totally engaged their curiosity and kept them fully entertained for the day. The instructions were easy to follow, and the pieces were well made, fit together smoothly, and felt sturdy once assembled. Just to add additional strength of this Book Nook, we used crafting glue. Once completed, the Book Nook looked far more impressive than we expected.

Absolutely lovely, the only nit picking thing would be, in all the other book nooks I've done, this is the first one without extra bits incase of breakage but still a fab build.

Adorable build but I have some nits to pick

The media could not be loaded.
I want to give this five stars, I really do. The finished kit is absolutely adorable (if you're wondering, I chose not to put the grass stuff on just yet. I kind of like it without but I may end up putting it on later). It has so many cute details and is different from so many other kits on the market. This is whimsical, fun, and really very pretty. It's the sort of piece that the more you look at it, the more you see and there IS a lot to see. I particularly love the open back view seeing the extensive library. So for looks, whimsy, creativity and fun this gets 5 stars. So here's my problem.... The instructions just weren't great. There were so many possible holes to snap pieces into but the instructions were photos that often weren't clear about where something went..... Does it go in this hole or this other hole slightly to the left? I found myself asking that a lot and pulling out a magnifying glass to try and study the directions more closely. And even so there were times when I had to take apart what I'd done because I had it one hole over too far and something else wouldn't fit. So I found myself getting mad at the kit more often than I like to get mad at a kit. Then there was my feeling that there were times when there was an easy way to do something but they came up with the hardest way to do it. And unnecessarily hard. This kit really was not a difficult kit to put together, but it became complicated because of the directions and some of their decisions about the orders in which things got put in. This probably won't make any sense to you unless you're putting the kit together. But here's the thing as mad as I got often at the instructions and some of the strange ways they chose to do things, I found myself compelled to finish this because I really liked what I was seeing and I wanted to see it through to completion. So I wasn't as mad at it as I could have been because there have been a couple of kits that I have quit on because they've made me too angry, lol.So the directions and how this kit chose some of their steps is a weak point. Another very weak point is the battery casing. It is near impossible to get the battery box out if you need to change The batteries . I'm trying to rig something in order to made it easier. It's designed poorly.BTW There's a fair amount of gluing which I don't mind but it is worth mentioning. So back to the high points.... The lighting is good and easy to install. Surprisingly easy. There are four lights and a touch sensor which all work flawlessly. And they illuminate the kit pleasantly. And lastly, this is surprisingly solid and durable. I glued most loose parts down. With the exception of the fabulous staircase (which is a bit fragile by design) the finished kit doesn't feel fragile at all.BOTTOM LINE: I love the finished product here. it's so playful and looks great and the lighting is easy and lovely. The kit for the most part isn't a difficult build but the instructions are hard to see and/or figure out at times. And sometimes they complicate some of the steps which could have been configured more easily. So, five stars for the adorable kit, and 3 or 4 stars for the amount of time I spent trying to interpret their instructions :)

An OK kit, but looks good overall.

I am currently in the middle of making it. I have made other wooden puzzle kits before and this one has many intricate parts. The nubs don't always fit together, and you definitely need to sand down when needed. It is fun overall and print quality is decent. I have seen worse but this is tad better than the worst. Especially the curved stairs were a chore to put together. I had to take frequent breaks in order to not get frustrated. Some instructions especially the tree were wrong, so need to use some judgement. No glue was provided and it is best if you use a higher quality fast dry glue. Especially when fixing the bunny on the swing.
